New Year, New Vision

Ring in the New Year with flair and sophistication with Vertilux’s latest blind innovation, a blind that has a dual purpose - both a practical and resourceful solution that can be used as an excellent marketing tool. This multifunctional blind not only serves as a tool to block out light and harmful UV rays, but it also functions as a limitless marketing resource that has infinite possibilities.

How? The blind acts as a rolling billboard that can display logos, promotions, images and even information about your products or company. The roller blinds are made from the Vertilux exclusive fabrics range which your desired content is printed and displayed on. A wide range of Vertilux roller systems can be used which means that the blinds are controlled with ease and convenience. Add the Fascia Kassett™ or the Z1 System™ to the roller blind, and that will ensure the blinds stay in place at all times.

The Vertilux’s blinds are as open as your imagination!

These stylish and captivating blinds have been installed into the newly completed Party Room at the McDonald’s Restaurant, Willows, Townsville adding a colourful and creative solution to a fun room. Vertilux’s Euroscreen™ colour Blanc, was the fabric selected to feature this design.

Waste Not Want Not

Too often, we are blinded by little environmental nasties - such as the everyday hand dryers, paper towels and fabric towels we use in our bathrooms. These hand dryers and paper towel outlets can cost us hundreds of dollars each year to run, which is both costly and harmful to the environment. To solve this problem, Vertilux decided it was time to act and installed four Dyson Airblade™ Hand Dryers in its male and female toilets in the factory to help reduce its carbon footprint and help out the environment.

The Dyson Airblade™ Hand Dryer dries 16 pairs of hands for the price of a single paper towel! Being paperless it saves trees and reduces landfill, as well as being energy efficient, using approximately 80% less energy than warm air hand dryers to dry hands.

Most of the components used in the Dyson Airblade™ Hand Dryer are recyclable so even after its use it does not harm the environment, making its lifecycle impact an environmental conscious one.

Wide World of Windows

New purpose: Once again, windows have not only been implemented as the practical and aesthetic features of a building, allowing natural light and picturesque glimpses of nature to be seen, but as a fundamental design element that is essential to the overall buildings functionality.

The new edition to the architectural world is the 74 story Al Hamra Tower located in Kuwait which has been designed to capitalise on the extreme desert temperatures through its south facing wall. Constructed from concrete, the southern wall insulates the structure against the harsh desert sun while the specially designed windows positioned on this wall, control the suns radiation, while also allowing for beautiful views over the city.

The cylindrical structure which curls around 130 degrees, is not only an extraordinary multifunctional building utilised for both office and commercial purposes, but it proves once more that windows not only serve to illuminate a building, but can be harnessed for their ability to transform a structure into an architectural feat, that really uses 110% of the windows capabilities and potential. The Mullion effect: In a beautiful home in Sweden, a window has become a pivotal aspect of the homes’ functionality and aesthetic appeal as it has revolutionised the everyday use of a window at home. The window, also known as a mullion window, has been implemented in an extension to the home and has been designed to be the main attraction of the house.

The mullion window allows light into the home as well as extra storage as it has been designed with shelves behind the skeleton of the window, allowing for a unique and creative touch. The window transforms the room into a multifunction area suiting both work and leisure activities. To read more on the multifunctional mullion window click here. Image courtesy of archdaily.com.
